2008 marks the 8th straight year my wife Ratree and I have split our time between Thailand and Santa Cruz, CA. Here we are at Crater Lake, OR on a summer road trip.

If all we take with us are our stories than this is a good one: Ratree and me at the Butte Creek home of my old CSU Chico friend Steve Ferreira, who reunited with his university girlfriend Jill after a 25 + year break. Steve thinks I have shrunk. I maintain I am standing in a hole.

At the wedding of my friend Rudy Estrada with his wife Tay in Lompang province on 11/22/08. Rudy traded the cold of Milwaukee for the tropical climate of Thailand and has no regrets. Me? I am a bit tired from the night before.

With my original college roomie, CSU Chico basketball teammate and gym legend Van "The Man" Marshall at The Oasis Tavern in Chico this summer. Van was the best shooting guard I ever played with. The "O" hasn't changed much in 30 years but dollar pitchers are nowhere to be found.
